What have we been reading 25-05-2018

25th May 2018 is a big date for companies in the EU and beyond. GDPR laws have come into effect.

There’s a nice quiz on the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-44224802 which demonstrated how GDPR affects individuals and companies (Thanks Janet O’Flaherty ).

The effect of GDPR is also being felt outside the EU. The New York Times has decided to block EU users until it can decide what it should do next

Another interesting article was from Google and the importance of answering user’s questions to rank well for voice search

Thank you, Helen Davies, for the article on the partnership between Microsoft and Great Ormond Street Hospital to support their research of artificial intelligence (AI)
